Moms got a little time to relax Sunday, and they were enjoyed themselves.

"My husband and my brother in law decided to take me out to lunch today so I wouldn't have to cook," Linda Quincy, mother and grandmother, explained.

Some ladies were treated to lunch or dinner.

"Food. Good food that you don't have to cook that someone else is cooking for you," Courtney Rizer, mother, described a good mother's day in Louisiana.

Other women chose to lounge and listen to music in town center.

"Well, music family fun, friends and a good time. And good weather," Katie Skupien, mother, described.

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what to gift to give your mother.

"every year. We have to be creative. I don't know if we are crazy, but we do try to get creative," Skupien said.

If you ask your mother, her she'll probably say just give me a bit of your time.

"It's not about presents. It's not about gifts. It's not about that. It's about the love and family having them with you," Quincy explained.

A little bit of a break would also be nice.

"It would be nice to have a monthly mother's day," Lauren Spear, mother, said.

"For me just sit at home with a good book and have all the children and grandchildren around me," Quincy said. "Waiting on you hand and foot."

Don't forget a hug and smile work too.

"I think being a mother is the hardest job I've ever had. It's just nice to celebrate being a mother. It's such a special gift to have children," Skupien said.

The experts say the majority of us will spent about $40 on mom this year.
