Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — As the heat continues here in south Louisiana, many are looking for ways to keep cool.
One of the most popular ways is to head to the local water park, and that's exactly what happened at Liberty Lagoon today.
More than 1,000 people made their way out to the park to deal with the heat. Before the place opened on this Fourth of July, there was a line dozens of people deep.
One parent we spoke with says this was a good chance to beat the heat, and have some family time.
"I love spending time with family and friends on the Fourth of July and just sharing this moment and opportunity," stated Ranard Steart.
Other water parks in the Capitol City were also very full today.
