Over 600 hundred kids came out to play in Port Allen for an Olympics of their own.

It's all part of the second annual Olympic Day at Port Allen High School. Kids are all from the area's five YMCA locations.

Games included wacky relays, shuttle run and frisbee throws.

Kristen Hogan with the YMCA says the events like today build lasting friendships.

"It's really important to us that we're bringing a bunch of different kids together, which is great,” stated Hogan. “They get to meet kids from other camps, that otherwise they'd never get to know."

The kids spent the whole day working out and were treated to Cane’s for lunch.
