Livingston Parish (NBC33) — With more than 25 years under his belt in law enforcement, Frank Rizzuto was ready for anything on Thursday's Livingston Parish narcotics round up.
"I've been doing this close to 30 years and I've seen anybody from 12 years old, to 75. selling, transporting narcotics," Rizzuto said.
It was a day that started off fruitless with no arrests. But turned around at the second home of the day, where officers found the man, wanted for selling pills, hidden in his mother's attic.
“That's a mother's instinct, but we're not going to charge her, she actually cooperated with us after a while," Rizzuto added, “being persistent and just doing it as long as we have. We don't like giving up.”
But the drama of the day didn't stop there, at the home of the last arrest there was also a short chase.
"When he saw us, and he saw us he took off in to the house, and Trevor chased him inside and tackled him in the living room," Rizzuto continued, "this stuff can go from a real knock on the door, hello, this is me, turn myself in, to something of this extreme. so you always got to prepare for everything."
With 2 out of his three felons arrested, Rizzuto said he felt it was a good day.
“I consider it to be pretty successful, a lot of the raids I’ve been on, you very rarely get 100%. We've put a very serious dent in the narcotics trade. at least for today," he explained.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s office along with several other agencies made a total of at least 10 narcotics related arrests, with the promise of more to come.
