DENHAM SPRINGS, La (NBC33) — Needy families all over Livingston Parish got a special visit Friday morning. Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies traveled all over the area, dropping off gifts just in time for Christmas.
It's part of their 25th annual Christmas Crusade, where off-duty deputies give toys to children who wouldn't otherwise get any for the holiday.
This year, LPSO delivered more than 3,900 toys to 1,316 children. They made up 630 families across the parish.
The sheriff's office collects those toys, and donations to buy toys, throughout the entire year. They receive donations from the community and local businesses.
