BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Mardi Gras 2012 season is off to a barking start in Baton Rouge with the Mystic Krewe of Mutts parade that happened on Sunday, Jan. 29.
This year's theme was “the good, the bad, and the furry.”
The parade features dogs of all shapes and sizes dressed up to the nines. There were cowboys and girls, jesters and peacocks.
The doggy royalty included Grand Marshall Cane 2, King Yogi and Queen Lillie.
All proceeds from the parade go to the capitol area animal welfare society's outreach spay and neuter program.
