BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A job fair for unemployed veterans was held in Gonzales today, Friday, March 16.
Several hundred of them made it out to the Gonzales Civic Center for the event. They had a chance to meet with more than thirty different businesses.
The Baton Rouge Business and Career Solutions Center will hold their next job fair on April 5, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge.
"It's real important right now because a lot of veterans are looking for work and it's hard for them especially with this economy at this point,” Renisha Green, Army Veteran, said. “So, I think it's a good thing to be able to get one on one with vendors and actually speak with someone rather than doing an application online and no on ever calls you back."
This is the third annual job fair for veterans in Gonzales.
