The dancers came from all over the south, from Texas to Alabama to right here in Louisiana. All are hoping for the same thing, a chance to dance on the hit show ‘So you think you can dance.’

"I am all about dancing, a lot of times people try and focus on tricks and technique. And I just want to show them that I have everything my mom gave me, groove and do what I can do," said Mary Halcomb. Halcomb was the first in line after traveling all the way from San Antonio.

"I pretty much came out of the womb dancing, so it's kind of meant to be and I’ve been dancing for 13 years since," added Kane Courmier, a dancer from West Louisiana.

Dinah Bush didn't have far to travel from her home in New Orleans, but she was still one of the very first in line.

“Been out here since like 9:00 last night, it was very cold, but worth it. I am ready, excited, just got to get warmed up. It’s going to be a great experience," exclaimed Bush.

She’s one of hundreds who just want a chance to dance it out for the judges. But Bush said she's got one trick up her sleeve, she'll be bringing her own Louisiana flare.

"Kind of jagged, like we rep our city. It’s rugged, like we're a little arrogant, we got this, we're New Orleans. We're coming, we're coming, we're coming hard. So that's what I am bringing," said Bush.

Executive Producer Jeff Thacker said that's exactly what they are hoping for from the New Orleans crowd.

"New Orleans is the city of jazz, it is the city of music, it has it's own feel, it's own flavor, and that's what we're hoping to see. We never know what we're going to get obviously," explained Thacker.

Season 11 is set to air in mid-may and is already promising some fun twists and turns.

"We're asked, 'are there new surprises and is there something new? Yes there is. We are changing a few things this season. When we say things are changing, they do, and they change when we know who we've got. We make a cake from the ingredients we have really," said Thacker.

‘So you think you can dance’ airs on our sister station Fox44.
