The New Orleans Hornets’ season may be over, but they're still impacting fans around the Capitol City.

Today, Hornets Forward Lance Thomas, popular mascot Hugo and the Honeybees dropped into Park Elementary for their Inspired for Summer Education Tour.

The boys and girls at Park took a break from the classroom to learn about the importance of continued reading and math and science activities throughout the summer.

"Some of those kids probably haven't smiled that big since Christmas,” said Thomas. “It's important for our organization to make an impact in Baton Rouge and let these kids know that the sky is the limit for them."

Thomas and the gang also made stops at Delmont Elementary, Redemptorist Elementary, and at the Boys and Girls Club this afternoon.
