Hundreds of shoppers headed out to the Belle of Baton Rouge this weekend to cross off a few items on their christmas shopping list and help a good cause.

The Mistletoe Market gave shoppers a chance to visit over 120 venders all in one place.

Event organizers say one half of the proceeds from the entrance fee go to help Denham Springs native Olivia Lewis.

Lewis is six-years-old and suffers from Batten disease. Olivia's mom Morgan Lewis says the money raised will go toward helping the family get a new van.

"We won't have to transfer her from her wheelchair to her car seat every time we want to get in," said Lewis. "We can basically push her wheelchair on to the ramp into the car bolt her down and we are ready to go. "

The van usually cost anywhere from $40 to $50 thousand. Event organizers say they hope to be able to raise over $4 thousand from the event.
