After months of intensive radiation and chemotherapy to treat a brain tumor, Mike Dobler is taking to the skies again.

Dobler, a former pilot, was forced out of the cockpit after being diagnosed with a serious brain tumor. Today, local pilot Jason Amy decided to help him back in to the air.

The two took a tour of downtown Baton Rouge. Amy says he was just happy to be able to help a fellow pilot get back in to the sky again.

"He obviously loves aviation and I do also,” Amy said. “It was fun to take him up and it was a really smooth day – we had a great time. Everything worked out well."

Dobler was stationed with the air force in New Mexico before his diagnosis. He's now living with his family in Baton Rouge while he receives treatment.
