Saturday was a day for fishing and a day for the kids of the Children's Hospital of Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

The Children’s Hospital Bass Classic had a record 202 boats racing back to Doiron’s Landing in hopes of having the best catch.

The $12,500 grand prize was not the only reason the fisherman came out; they were raising money for kids like Jodi Dias's son, Owen. He and his mother are so thankful, not only to the hospital, but to the participants in Saturday's event.

"Everything is done for the children,” stated Dias. “It's just amazing - most of the people here don't even participate in the program. You see these kids and it just touches your heart and you want to do everything you can do."

Here's a rundown of the big winners on Saturday.

Cliff Crochet-Tyson Mire, 21.49 $12,500
Raymond and Cheryl Louque, 21.14 $2,00
Craig Walker-Brent Bonadona, 20.76 $1500

Big Bass Winners:

1. Tracy Son and Josh Son, 7.30
2. Cliff Crochet and Tyson Mire, 6.22
3. Duane Blanco and James Solar, 5.85
