Entergy helps seniors beat the heat
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — While the heat is still on across south Louisiana, Entergy is donating a million dollars to help keep senior citizens cool. The money is being donated to both nonprofit agencies and the power to care fund.
Entergy says all this heat has led to record usage all across the south.
The president of the company says this program's designed to target about five thousand seniors who need assistance.
“A lot of times they have to make a tough choice,” said Bill Mohl, President of Entergy. “We want to help them so that choice is that they can stay cool and they can also meet - go out, purchase their medicines, purchase their foods, and meet their family's needs.”
The one million dollars will go to help customers in the four states served by Entergy.
