BATON ROUGE, LA — The Baton Rouge Fire Department would like to remind you that it is time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. Over the weekend we all set our clocks forward. It is always a good practice to replace the batteries in your smoke detector at this time.

If there is a fire in your home, a working smoke detector can increase your chance of survival by more than 50 percent. Please take the time to inspect your smoke detectors.

Make sure to set your clock ahead one hour on Sunday, March 11.
