NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A new-age dare devil completes a freefall from more than 13 miles above the earth's surface.
Base jumper Felix Baumgartner successfully completed a test jump from nearly 72,000 feet above the earth's surface.
The Australian skydiver is hoping to break the world freefall record of 120,000 feet set by u-s air colonel Joe Kittinger in 1960.
He’ll attempt the freefall this summer in New Mexico.
The entire jump took nearly eight minutes from launch to touchdown.
