BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Danny Morris took his first steps back to his normal life today. That's because after several months of painful recovery he's back at work.
Morris was hit by an alleged drunk driver while riding his bike down Perkins Road. He was placed in a medically induced coma for more than a week and had multiple surgeries to repair the shattered bones in his body.
Today, for the first time since the accident, Danny says life is starting to get back to the way it once was.
"It felt really good to get back to work for the first time,” Danny said. “I've just been laying in a bed basically for four months. I’ve been doing physical therapy, but this is nice to try to get back to a little bit of normalcy."
Although Danny returns to the life he once knew, he does so without a close friend by his side. That same accident took the life of Nathan Crowson.
