Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — LSU Men's Basketball Coach Trent Johnson hosted a dodgeball tournement this afternoon of epic proportions.
The 2011-2012 basketball season is not set to begin for another month. However, Johnson assembled the team and put on the tournament as a way of connnecting with fans. He did so with the help of a student organization called the Maravich Maniacs.
People packed the PMAC to dip, dive, duck, and dodge, the basketball coach. Even some members of the media came out to play. NBC33's own Matt Boudreaux was on a team with other sports journalists in the Baton Rouge area. That team managed to pull out one win, but the team was defeated by the end of the day.
Dodgeball may not be the players typical work out, but it helped the B-Ballers score points with fans without taking it to the basket.
