NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The CDC has released a new disaster planning kit for what is supposed to be the happiest day of your life: your wedding!
The agency's public health matters blog has released a wedding day survival guide saying preparing for a wedding isn't very different than planning for a disaster.
They suggest having a medical supply kit to help a clumsy flower girl or passed out guest.
They say frequent checks of weather reports, and talking with event planners about venue evacuation plans, will help in the event of a tornado or tropical storm.
Finally, they say you should assign a point person for guests to contact if an emergency pops up.
What about the inevitable bridezilla encounter? CDC experts say bridesmaids should have a box of chocolates, or a sedative, within arms reach at all times.
