A Westdale Heights Academic Magnet (WHAM) School third grader was lucky enough to win tickets to participate in this year’s 134th annual White House Easter Egg Roll and got a hug from First Lady Michelle Obama.

Sunna Jones spent most of Monday, April 9, on the White House’s South Lawn participating in the holiday event with the theme “Let’s Go, Let’s Play, Let’s Move.” Sunna entered an annual on-line public, national lottery to attend and participate in the event. Her family has attended the Easter Egg Roll previously, as well.

Jones and her cousin, Mykayla Cody, attended the event wearing matching, polka-dot dresses. They received the official program, poster and a souvenir wooden egg. President Barack Obama read “Where the Wild Things Are” to children as he and Michelle Obama interacted with the children. During an obstacle course game, the Jones met the first lady, who gave her a hug and said she is “very smart.”
