BATON ROUGE, LA — On Saturday, April 14, The Baton Rouge Fire Department will hold its annual Family Day and Medal and Awards Ceremony. This event will be held at the Baton Rouge Fire Department Administration Building, 8011 Merle Gustafson Drive, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The event will consist of awarding of medals, certificates and other commendations to the firefighters who have exhibited exceptional expertise and heroism in the course of their job. The awards portion will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m. The Medals and Awards being presented will include medical life saves, unit/crew commendations, crew of the year and more. There will also be a memorial ceremony to remember those who served in the Baton Rouge Fire Department and passed within the last year.
