Wreck in Point Coupee parish severely injures one driver
Lottie, La (NBC33) — Unrestrained Driver Sustained Life-Threatening Injuries in Pointe Coupee Crash
Louisiana State Police Troop A is currently investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred on US 190 in Lottie, LA on April 10.
Kayla Hatch, 22, was driving west on US 190 when she attempted to make a left turn onto LA 81. Hatch turned into the oncoming path of a vehicle being driven by Kevin Cope, 32.
Hatch, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from her pickup truck. After being ejected, she was struck by the pickup as it rolled east on US 190.
Cope’s SUV off the right side of the road after the crash, struck the front porch of a local business, and caught fire. Cope was able to escape the vehicle and was treated for minor injuries. Acadian Ambulance Airmed transported Hatch to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Troopers do not suspect alcohol to have played a factor in this crash.
