An armed robber was shot by one of his intended victims early this morning.

It happened in the parking lot of the BOSS LADY LOUNGE, 3827 PLANK ROAD, around 2:30am. A group of people, including several musicians who had performed in the club, were in the back parking lot loading their musical equipment into a vehicle. Two masked robbers came up, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun. The suspects robbed three of the victims of their personal property when the fourth intended victim, a 40-year old man, pulled a handgun from the car and shot the robber, striking him several times. The would-be victim also fired at the second suspect as he fled but he managed to get away.

The robbery suspect who was shot was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and has since been transported to New Orleans for further treatment. He will eventually be charged once his medical condition permits him to be arrested.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the second suspect is urged to contact the Robbery Division at 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
