A woman in Ascension parish makes a living by making jewelry and selling it. She was approached by a woman who says she wanted to buy some jewelry with her sister but wanted a private showing. This is not unusual for the jewelry maker. Woman didn’t want to look at the jewelry. She set her up for a robbery. A Hispanic man grabbed the woman and her children and held them hostage while stealing about $20,000 worth of jewelry. The house was vacant and now detectives have issued a “John Doe” warrant for a man they think is responsible although they can’t identify him.
