"I just come over here to pick up my mail and low and behold there's a tattoo parlor. Oooh." The next thing Darwin Taylor knew he was sitting in this chair getting something he's never gotten before. Having just been reacquainted with his daughter after 25 years, this 67 year old knew exactly what he wanted.
"That's the first thing that come to my mind, my little girl ya know," he says. Darwin got Jenny's name tattooed across the top of his hand. "Everyone always told me it's habit forming and they're right so far," says Taylor.
He's returned to Peptide Tattoo in Carlisle, Ohio three more times in less than 6 months. "It used to be a youth gone wild mentality but now it's seniors gone wild if you will,"says tattoo artist Matty McTatty. He says getting inked is a growing trend among senior citizens. Many of them looking to get a tattoo of something personal.
"It could be the loss of a child. It could be the gaining of a child," he says." "I told her, 'I told you we'd never be separated again, didn't I?' She says, 'That's right.' I said, 'There you go," says Taylor. As for the other three tats that followed... "I'm just enjoying life," he says. And he hinted that the ladies enjoy his new look too. "I don't kiss and tell," laughs Taylor.
