BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) -- For safety sake it's time to clean out the fridge, and Thanksgiving leftovers. The USDA suggests if you haven't eaten your Thanksgiving leftovers by now, it's time to either freeze them or throw them out.
So long as the turkey and other fixins' have been kept refrigerated, it should be safe to freeze.
Wrap the leftovers with foil or a plastic wrap that is recommended for the freezer.
The agency says while smelling something is a good way to see if it's still good.. you should never taste the food to check.
When you're cleaning out.. remember the old adage: when in doubt, throw it out.
