BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: All lanes are open on I-10 East at the I-10/I-110 Split. The queue from this incident has reached LA-415. The Traffic Management Center will advise of any changes.
Baton Rouge emergency responders are working to clear up traffic on I-10 East. An early-morning accident has had traffic backed up for hours.
The cab of an 18-wheeler truck caught fire just East of the Washington Exit on I-10 East. Right now, all traffic from the Mississippi River bridge in the eastbound lanes is being diverted to I-110 North and Nicholson Drive.
We're told the cab of the big rig is dangling off the side of Interstate 10 over the guardrail in an elevated portion of the roadway. We're told two people have injuries, but should be OK. Traffic delays are stretched back to LA-1.
We'll continue to update this story as we get more information.
