This is an NBC33 News update: Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Dillon Alex Mier, 19, of St. Martinville for False Impersonation of a Police Officer. A juvenile who was a passenger in the car was not charged in connection with this incident. Mier has been booked at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center without bond.

ST. MARTINVILLE, La (WVLA) – Two men were spotted early this morning on Friday, Oct. 22 posing as law enforcement officers. The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office urges the public to exercise caution and contact 911 immediately if you come in contact with the individuals.

Two white males in their early twenties were spotted in the Catahoula area near Leblanc Street. They were driving a dark colored Honda Accord with blue and red emergency lights on the dash board. Posing as police officers, the suspects attempted to make traffic stops.

If you are pulled over by a vehicle that you are uncertain is a law enforcement vehicle, pull into a well lighted and well populated area, keep your doors and windows locked and call 911 to verify the stop. The dispatcher will be able to confirm whether or not it is a legitimate stop.
