Truck tears down power lines
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge neighborhood spent part of their afternoon in the dark after a truck tears down some power lines.
It happened just after 1p.m. on Linden Street.
Neighbors tell NBC33 news that a truck driver was saving time by cutting through the neighborhood. One person we spoke with says the driver didn't know what was happening until it was too late.
"We were all yelling at him to stop because you could see that the wires getting ready to come off the top of the other side of the truck. He stopped and jumped out and tried to back up," said Denise Barnes, a resident in the neighborhood.
The power was out for about an hour and a half.
