People often worry about trains hitting cars, but what about the reverse?

Police say a 2008 pickup truck crashed into a train on Wednesday just before 5:00 a.m. at the 1800 Thomas Road railroad crossing.

According to reports, the train was backing up on the tracks at 3 mph when the truck ran into the sixth railcar.

The driver told investigators that he did not notice the train on the tracks.

There was one person on the train, but no injuries were reported.

The driver of the truck was cited for careless operation, failure to yield at a railroad crossing, and expired motor vehicle inspection. The truck was towed away for damages.
