Tropical Storms Irene and Jose...plus a Tropical Low

Irene is moving rapidly through the center of New England and will be in the Northern edge of New England later tonight.  Tropical Storm force winds of 60 mph with higher gust have been reported. Irene will continue to move rapidly northeast and begin to weaken further as the storm continues to move over land then colder waters. Heavy rainfall continues and dangerous tidal surges will continue through tonight.  

Newly develop Tropical Storm Jose is making the closest approach to Bermuda and will move rapidly northeast and dissipate. Jose is not forecasted to be a threat to the US.  

A Tropical Low has formed near the Cape Verde Islands and continues to show signs of further strengthening.  The chance for development has been raised and there is a high chance this Low will continue to strengthen.  Will track this Low and watch for development.
