NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A small but determined group of Boy Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 407 turned out at Belle Isle Cemetery in Lakeland, New York on Friday to place flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day weekend.
The Boy Scouts helped World War Two veteran Bill Waters. For years Waters, a US Marine who fought in WW II, and several other veterans with the Solvay-Geddes Veterans group have taken care of veterans graves in four different cemeteries.
Waters is the last veteran left to tend to the flags, and when his knees started hurting him he knew he needed some help.
When the Boy Scouts from Troop 407 heard Waters needed help, they volunteered to plant the flags.
