NBC NATIONAL NEWS — As the recovery from last week's devastating tornados in Oklahoma continues, some of music's biggest stars are lending a helping hand.
The "Healing in the Heartland Relief Benefit Concert" will air tonight on NBC.
The numbers from last week's storms have been stunning: 24 lives lost, nearly 4,000 homes and businesses damaged and more than 1,200 buildings completely destroyed.
Oklahoma native and country music star Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert sang a tribute to the storm victims and survivors last week on NBC's "The Voice".
Tonight, they take things a step further, headlining the relief benefit concert.
"Even in a tragic situation, if there's one thing I can offer, it's music," Shelton says. "Music can help raise awareness, it can help raise money. It can shine a light on any situation."
Tickets for the concert at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Arena sold out in five minutes last Saturday.
The fundraiser will also feature performances from country legends Reba McEntire and Vince Gill, as well as Shelton's fellow coach on "The Voice", Usher.
Also among the acts taking part in the concert are country artists Darius Rucker and the trio Rascal Flatts.
The event will raise money for "The United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornados Relief Fund".
