Three shootings in EBR in less than 24-hours

BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) – Baton Rouge City Police is currently investigating three separate shootings that occurred within East Baton Rouge Parish. All three cases occurred within the last twenty-four hours.

The first occurred yesterday, Sunday, Nov. 21, around 5 p.m. Police responded to a robbery investigation on Duane Street. They arrived to find three male victims who had been robbed. One had been shot in the leg.

Officers learned the three men were walking on Tyler Street near Minnesota Street when they were confronted by two males, who were on foot. The two men robbed the three individuals and then began firing a handgun at them. The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

The second incident happened just four hours later on Alliquippa Street.

Baton Rouge Police received multiple calls of shots fired in the area. When they arrived on scene, they found a man lying face down in the roadway. Homicide Investigators are currently working to identify the victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The last incident happened less than two hours ago on Monday, Nov. 22 around 10 a.m. Police again responded to a call of shots fired. When they arrived they found a twenty-four year old man, who had been shot in the neck. It happened while the victim was standing in a yard on North 37th Street.
