Texas mother, 2 week old baby hit white crossing street

A young mother and her 2-week-old child are in the hospital after they were hit by a car while they were attempting to cross the street.

Tyler Police were called to a crash involving a pedestrian on Saturday, July 27. It happened around 8:22 p.m. in the 5800 block of Old Bullard Road.

On arrival, officers found Aubrey Hettinger, 20, and her two week old infant lying in the street.

Witnesses stated that they saw the two crossing Old Bullard westbound when they were hit by a black car that driving southbound.

Hettinger and her baby were crossing in an area of Old Bullard that does not have a pedestrian crosswalk.

Both Hettinger and the infant were taken to local hospitals. The infant was later taken to a hospital in Dallas and her current condition is unknown. Hettinger is in critical condition at this time.

The driver of the car has been identified as Angela Minick, 40. She did not have any injuries in the accident and there was no indication of alcohol use by either person.

Tyler Police are still investigating this incident at this time.
