Lawmakers at the State Capitol got a chance to operate a robot built by local students.

Team Combustion is a group of students from Northshore High School. They visited the capitol today to entice lawmakers to sponsor them in their sixth year of competition.

It was also a chance for them to show youngsters how much fun science and engineering can be, so they could go on to pursue careers in those fields.

"People of any age can be really interested in science and technology, our country needs more engineers and computer scientists and what not, so this is just like a fun way of building robots," stated Aretha Guo, a member of Team Combustion.

In addition to winning 13 awards for the competition, Team combustion pride themselves on their community service.
