BATON ROUGE (WVLA) - Baton Rouge Police say 20 year old Aramis Jackson was taken into custody late this morning in Violet, St Bernard Parish.

He's wanted for allegedly breaking into a house in Beauregard Town and shooting 42 year old Alexandra Engler and her 9 year old daughter.

Police say they were able to match DNA from the scene to Jackson - linking him to the scene.

Since the shooting - people in Beauregard Town have on edge, some even armed themselves.

People we spoke with say Jackson's arrest calms some fears.
