Stricter DWI Sentences Proprosed

The Governor wants repeat drunk driver offenders behind bars longer -- a lot longer.

Under a new proposal, 3rd time offenders would spend a year behind bars. That's up from the 45 days they're in jail now.

Those who offend a 4th time would be locked up for 3 years. Right now - they're in jail for just 75 days.

The proposal will be brought to the legislature when the session starts next month. It could be weeks before it becomes law.
