State Police say driving in Louisiana is a privilege, not a right, and one they’re ready to take away from those who know they’re getting behind the wheel illegally.
A state law makes driving with a suspended license due to a DWI, vehicular homicide or negligent injury a criminal offense. The law has been in place since this summer but troopers say there are still plenty of people breaking the law.
They say before, offenders when caught, just received a ticket.
Now, troopers say not only will these drivers be cited…They’ll also go straight to jail.
