The report card is out and Louisiana didn't make the grade. In fact, the state's marks were far from satisfactory.
A new report from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center gave Louisiana a D in children's health for the second year in a row. There are a lot of factors that add up to the score - like smoking, poor diet, too much TV time, and not enough exercise.
The report offers recommendations to parents, teachers, and policy makers. It suggests way to get kids more active and eating better. The report will be sent out to policy makers in hopes of raising that grade in coming years.
