State Bails Out Chicken Plant

Governor Bobby Jindal announced plans to bail out Pilgrim's Pride in Farmersville.

The chicken processing plant, which employs 1300 workers was slated to shut down indefinitely.

Governor Jindal said the state is putting up half of the plant's $80 million dollar price tag. Another $10 million will go to match upgradess promised by the buyer, Foster Farms of Livingston.
