OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - Two cellmates of Brian G. Armstrong, who was found beaten to death in his cell Monday in the Opelousas City Jail, have been booked with second-degree murder. The Daily World of Opelousas reports 29-year-old Chadwick O. King and 22-year-old William King, both of Opelousas, were booked on the charge Tuesday.
Chadwick King already was being held on a charge of obstruction
of justice at the time of the incident, and William King III had been booked with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, resisting an officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm; and a probation violation.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, which is handling the investigation, said its investigation had determined that Armstrong died as the result of an altercation inside the city jail.
