NBC NATIONAL NEWS — As of today, there's exactly another month of winter left.
And between now and March 21st, there will be even more runs on milk, bread and eggs, but retail analysts say this winter's creating runs elsewhere in retail.
And it's not just the standard winter items you'd expect to fly off the shelves in bad weather situations.
"Like the winter coats that should be on clearance at this point. If you're trying to find a snow blower good luck with that," said CNBC Consumer Reporter Kelli Grant.
Stores stocked up on winter goods months ago, not knowing the weather would be this brutal this long, and now they're running short.
"Even something simple like a snow shovel or some de-icing salt for your car is really going to be hard to find at this point," said Grant.
Retailers report extended demand for winter clothing, too, and unlike Februarys past, consumers aren't thinking spring yet.
"It seems like the consumer has a buy now, wear now mentality. And buy now, wear now when it's snowing outside like it is in the Northeast and Midwest... Hard to buy those spring goods," said retail analyst, Dana Telsey.
That also means it looks like traditional sales on winter wear will likely be put off until winter really is over.
