Slidell man killed while changing flat tire

COVINGTON, La (NBC33) – Eric Harrison, 49, of Slidell, La pulled over on the I-10 shoulder on Saturday, Dec. 4 because of a flat tire. When he got out of his car, another vehicle slammed into his car, causing his death.
Desiree Lafluer, 27, of Metairie was driving with passenger Patrick Stogner, 38, and his three year old son. All three sustained moderate to minor injuries. The passenger in Harrison’s vehicle, Susie Singletary, 43, sustained severe injuries.
Louisiana State Police Officers say they suspect Lafluer was under the influence at the time of the crash, and samples of her blood have been sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
Lafluer was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Negligent Injuring, DWI with Child Endangerment, and Careless Operation. She was booked at the St. Tammany Parish Jail in Covington, La.
