A Baton Rouge woman is ticketed after police say she hit a six year old boy with her car and drove off.

The Sheriff's Office says it happened around 5 p.m. on the 5900 block of Shakespeare Drive.

Seannah Berente was found just a few hours later, who deputies determined was driving the speed limit when the child crossed into her path. .

We're told after noticing damage on her car, she went back to the scene to see if everything was okay.

Instead of being arrested, she was issued a summons for hit and run and driving without a license.

The six year old has some bruises on his lungs. He's expected to be okay.

She is driving without a license because of a DWI and she is "cited"! Isn't hit and run a felony offense in LA? Gads, she runs down a child , doesn't even stop and just gets a slap on the wrist. Hope she grows up real fast and gets responsible. Maybe she should do MANY MANY hours of community service to learn there is no "free ride". Glad the child will be okay, but he just as easily could have been killed.
