NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A brand new NBC-Wall Street Journal poll brings bad news for President Obama.
His job approval is on a massive slide, and now his personal likability is taking a hit, too.
President Obama's approval rating was near an all-time high in January.
But after Benghazi, Edward Snowden, Syria, the government shutdown, and now the troubled healthcare website, it's at an all-time low of 42 percent.
"He is behind the curve right now and the question is whether he can get back up," said Obama Biographer David Mariniss.
For the first time the President's personal likability is upside down too.
This, as he's under attack for promising people could hold onto health care plans that are being canceled. "Actually it's the law that they must get another plan, continuous coverage is part of the law." Kathleen Sebelius/ HHS Secretary
The President says his opponents are only telling half the story.
"If you leave that stuff out, you're being grossly misleading, to say the least," said President Barack Obama
Now a group of Republicans wants to make it illegal to cancel current health plans.
"For the people who are losing their coverage, this is not a five percent problem, this is a 100 percent problem." Senator Marco Rubio, Florida
Today the President speaks on growing the economy - a big part of that, is the cost of healthcare.
For perspective, the Republican party's likeability is also at an all-time low.
And the President's bottomed-out approval rating is still three points higher than President Bush's was at the same point in his presidency.
