BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC33) — The search for Ron Green Sr., 44, continues Thursday morning. He's accused of shooting and killing his wife, Dewona Green, and 12 year old son, Ronald Green Jr., on Lakeway Cove Avenue around 2:00 a.m. Thursday.
The woman and the boy were found shot to death in a bedroom.
Authorities found out about the double-murder after someone in Baton Rouge called the cops claiming Green admitted to the murders and was about to jump off a bridge into the Mississippi River.
Green's abandoned car was found on Veteran's Memorial Bridge in St. James parish overnight, but investigators were unable to find him. They think he could be in the water or on the run.
Last week, deputies said Mrs. Green called 9-1-1 on her husband because he got violent with her. No charges were filed, but she did get a protective order against him, which he broke over the weekend.
Ron Green Sr. was booked into jail for breaking the restraining order, but bailed out.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends involved.
