Youngsters got a lesson in horses at the LSU Veterinary Hospital today.

It's part of "Pets and Vets", a free educational program at the LSU Vet school every Tuesday and Thursday in June.

Kids get to learn about different aspects of veterinary medicine, like the anatomy of horses, and how much work shelters really do.

Keisha Phillips was one of the teachers today, and she said she would've loved to have this growing up.

"This generation of kids growing up, they're a lot more exposed to things, and i definetly wished i could at the time i was growing up, we really didn't have things like this," said Phillips.
