NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Shanesha Taylor, the jobless mom from Arizona whose arrest has drawn national attention to just how frayed America's social safety net has become, made a last-minute decision on the advice of her lawyer to skip a news conference held on her behalf Tuesday morning in front of the Arizona Capitol.
Her lawyer, Benjamin Taylor, and community advocate Jarrett Maupin said they met with Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery on Monday for "quite some time" and have another appointment Friday to discuss dropping Shanesha Taylor's felony charges and getting her and women like her the support they need to find jobs and affordable child care.
