EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH – A Baton Rouge man is charged with child desertion. Baker Police say Kenneth Johnson-Dyer let his two-year-old son walk down a road alone over the weekend. Police say Dyer just fell asleep. The boy was found safe and sound. Dyer's been released on $6,000 bail.

TANGIPAHOA PARISH - Matthew Peek locked up and charged with Aggravated Battery after deputies say he stabbed a woman after an argument turned physical. We're told it all happened in Kentwood. Peek's thought to have started pushing the victim, then stabbed her in the hand.

ASCENSION PARISH - Good news for an area fire district. Fire district two, just outside of Donaldsonville, is getting an improved fire protection rating. That means businesses and residences could see up to eleven percent in savings on insurance rates. The department is made up of 11 paid firefighters and 10 volunteers. The rating comes from the property association of Louisiana.

ORLEANS PARISH - The Superdome in New Orleans is no more! The building is still there, but now it's called the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The automaker signing on for a ten year deal. It's the first time the place has been called anything but the Superdome. No word on how much the deal cost Mercedez-Benz.
