PARISH BY PARISH: Former UL player arrested for domestic abuse; Plant explosion injures 3; Facebook terrorist arrested
LOUISIANA (NBC33) — LAFAYETTE PARISH - Tyrell Fenroy, the leading rusher for UL, and a record holder in the Sunbelt Conference has been arrested for domestic abuse. Fenroy's ex-girlfriend filed a police report with Lafayette Police claiming she'd been battered by him. The victim claims Fenroy took her phone, then grabbed her by both arms. His "ex" said she didn't want to press charges as long as Fenroy left her alone, but according to police, Fenroy was in the parking lot at her office the next day. Fenroy played for the Cajuns from 2005 until 2008. He's bonded out of jail.
WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH - Three workers were hurt this morning after a plant explosion in Port Allen. It happened before 10:00 a.m. at Airgas in Port Allen. According to reports there was a malfunction at the plant that caused the explosion. No one was seriously hurt. The plant was evacuated. But we're told no one outside the plant was even in any danger.
IBERIA PARISH - The sheriff's office has arrested a man they say has been "terrorizing" people. Del Richard, 26, is accused of getting on Facebook and announcing he'd be going on a "killing" spree in New Iberia. He is also accused of saying he'd "kill" any police who responded. Tonight, he's in the Iberia Parish Jail on a $1 million bond.
